Bronte

Bronte is a historic and one of the oldest storied communities in the Burlington-Oakville Area, offering a blend of heritage and modern coastal living. Established in 1834 by United Empire Loyalists, Bronte began as a humble fishing village. The first marina was built in 1856, and continues to this day as Bronte Outer Harbour Marina – a full-service marina & boatyard.

Today, Bronte is a vibrant and diverse neighbourhood divided into North, East, and Southwest zones. The north-central area features light industrial activity, while the western side includes residential neighbourhoods, open green spaces, and the redeveloped site of the former Petro-Canada refinery, now transformed into public parkland. Bronte is known for its green spaces and waterfront parks, including Coronation Park, offering many trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas. All of which make outdoor living a big part of the Bronte lifestyle.

Bronte Village, the downtown core, also runs along Lakeshore Rd. W, and offers a mix of boutique shops, local restaurants, and cafés, along with several shopping plazas.

Perfect for commuters, the Bronte GO Station provides rail and bus service with more than 1,700 parking spots, connecting residents to Toronto, Hamilton, and other cities along the Lakeshore West Line.
