Everyone Warned Him About Buying in the Country – Now They’re Begging to Visit

Let’s talk about country living for a minute.

People love to share their opinions about moving out of the city, especially those who’ve never done it.

You say “acreage” and they picture cows, tractors, and a 45-minute drive just to get milk.

But that’s not the full story. Not even close.

Here are a few of the biggest myths we hear about rural real estate, and the truth behind them:

MYTH #1: “It’s too far from everything”
Not true. Many country towns have great schools, shops, coffee spots, and yes, even Uber Eats.  You can find both quiet and convenience. You don’t have to sacrifice your lifestyle to get land.

MYTH #2: “You’ll never be able to sell it”
That one’s outdated.  In today’s market, country homes for sale are in high demand. More buyers want space, nature, and room to breathe.

MYTH #3: “It’s too much work”
It depends on what you buy.  Not every country property is a working farm. Many homes offer low-maintenance living with open skies, privacy, and none of the heavy lifting.

The truth? Some people want city lights, and that’s okay.

But more and more families are choosing a different kind of lifestyle. One with more space, more calm, and a deeper connection to nature.

Thinking about buying acreage or moving to the country?

Got a myth you’ve heard about rural living? Drop it below, I’ve probably heard it too!
